SURPRISE WEDDING


Miss Marguerite Bruns and Fred Purgahn Married Saturday Evening and Surprised Relatives.


Miss Marguerite Bruns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benj. F. Bruns and Fred Purgahn, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Purgahn of this city, gave their parents, relatives and friends the biggest surprise of their lives Saturday evening when they according to plans made, went to the home of Rev. R. W. Ely pastor of the Jefferson Street Presbyterian Church were they were married. After the ceremony the Newlyweds went to the home of the bride and broke the news of the wedding. She is a granddaughter of Judge J. W. Bruns and he says she never even gave him an opportunity to perform the ceremony for his only granddaughter to be married. Mr. Purgahn recently returned home from France where he served with honors in the American army. The bride and groom are making their home at the present with his parents. The Cosmos-Monitor joins friends in extending congratulations and best wishes.
