  “I did think they acted a little like married folks, on the street car the other night.” remarked one of the teachers in the Lafayette school when she heard of the marriage of Miss Blanche Worden to Mr. Harley Gifford. The wedding took place March 25, at Kansas City. Miss Worden just closed her third year teaching in the Topeka schools. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Worden, of Pomona, Cal., formerly of Eskridge, Kan. Miss Worden was graduated from the Eskridge high school with the class of 1915. She attended Kansas State Normal at Emporia, where she obtained a life certificate. She taught in the public schools of Eskridge for one year after receiving her certificate from the Normal. She is an accomplished musician and is like by all who know her.
  Mr. Gifford who was graduated from Eskridge high school with the class of 1916, is the son of Mrs. Mary E. Gifford, of Eskridge. He attended normal at Emporia one year. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Epsilon fraternity at Emporia. Mr. Gifford was a member of Co. L, K. N. G. of the Thirty-fifth division. He served in France and was in all the major operations of the division. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in March, 1919, while he was still overseas. After he returned from France he was employed with a mercantile company in Kansas City for a year. At present he is an accountant for Washington, Henry & Co., auditors and income-tax consultants with headquarters in Kansas City. Mrs Gifford will leave in a wek[sic] for a visit with her parents in California. She will return in the fall. Mr. and Mrs. Gifford will make their home in Kansas City, Mo.
